In my post Follow your heart?, I argued that, contrary to the opinion held by many of my colleagues, I do not consider music to be a universal language. In order to clarify this position, however, we must first do what constitutes the foundation of any discussion: define our concepts. Without clear definitions, misunderstandings are inevitable.
